The contract involved the construction of Botswana's largest bridge.

Concrete Pumps c.c. supplied a SEM 500 Concrete Placer Pump with accessories.
The pumping involved no special records in distance or height or output.  But this was a typical SEM application - the Contractor selecting an affordable tool that suited the medium-sized contract in a remote area - a tool that performed without breakdowns and which gave concrete placing costs that made a profit.

The contract involved the transformation of a water tunnel built in 1963 into a pressure conduit.  The existing tunnel had a cross section of 1.95 x 1.95m with a length of 740m.  1.8m steel pipes had to be installed and the existing space between the pipes and the old tunnel wall had to be filled with concrete.

Concrete Pumps c.c. supplied a SEM 250 Concrete Placer Pump with accessories.  On this contract it was planned to utilize both the pumping and the pneumatic placing capabilities of the SEM Pump.  Within the distance limitations of SEM, pumping was utilized.  After that the contractor used pneumatic placing with very good success.  Maximum placing distance was 420m.
