SEM Concrete Placer Pumps

THE PUMPS

1. Air feed from the compressor.
2. Control valve for lid blowing ring.
3. Air nozzles.
4. Pressure release valve.

5. Operating valve
6. Pressure gauge
7. Safety valve

The output of SEM pumps varies according to the type and design of the concrete.  Grading and shape of coarse and fine aggregates are important as well as percentages of sand, cement and aggregate in the mix.  At all times a pumpable concrete is essential and a slump of less than 100mm is not recommended.  Additives can sometimes improve the pumpability of concrete.

A guide to combined horizontal and vertical pumping distances with SEM.  The distances are, to a certain degree, dependent on the proportioning and consistency of the concrete combined with the type of cement and aggregates used.  The figures in the graph are an average of results achieved in South Africa.
